Internet telephony products are the lastest craze in phone service and technology. Even if you don't know exactly what this is, you've definitely heard the terms "Voice Over IP" or "VOIP" in the news or in conversation.

In basic terms, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP or Voice Over IP for short) refers to a category of hardware and software that enables people to use the Internet as the transmission medium for telephone calls

With VOIP, businesses can completely bypass the per minute charges of the local and long distance phone companies and have greater live call communications coverage. VOIP is a great option for multi-location companies.

It is Chorus Communications opinion that this technology is in its infancy and will only grow in prominance over the next five years. Even if the time is not right now for your business to make the leap to VOIP, that time will come in the not-so-distant future.
