Did You Miss This Year’s 2018 Carriers Ball? We Have Your Recap Right Here!
Over 350 attendees, 26 sponsors, ten awards, a crowd-pleasing performance by hip-hop pioneer Grandmaster Flash, and so much more—we think it’s safe to say that this year’s Carriers Ball was an absolute success!
Some of the nation’s most prominent and influential figures from the Channel Partners Evolution Conference & Expo—which is also held in tandem with the Carriers Ball—joined various top-performing agents and data recovery service providers who traveled to Philadelphia for an electrifying night of networking, awards, entertainment, and so much more.
The red-carpet event, which took place on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, greeted guests at The Liberty View at the Independence Visitors Center, located in the heart of Philadelphia’s Historic District. Attendees enjoyed breathtaking views of Independence Mall and the Liberty Bell, while indulging in classic Philly fare and cocktails at the venue’s contemporary indoor ballroom, before the party ultimately took over the venue’s all-new outdoor terrace.
Later in the night, guests were treated to a star-studded lineup of performances and appearances by Grandmaster Flash, the award-winning MUMMERS South Philadelphia String Band, and Philadelphia icons Ben Franklin and Rocky Balboa.
The 2018 Carriers Ball was also a particularly big night for women in the tech industry where for the first time ever two out of the ten award winners were women! Not to mention the entire event was orchestrated by a woman, Chorus Communications’ very own Director of Marketing, Buffy Harakidas. Most of the award presenters were also women, with Jaymie Scotto of JSA who gave the award for Best Colocation.
Awards and their respective winners are as follows:
Best Colocation Services – Tierpoint
Best Channel Manager – Maureen O’Connell, Comcast Business
Partner of the Year – Chris Kennedy
Best Cyber Security – Ancero
Best Client Retentions/Support Personnel – Stacy Armstrong, Net Carrier
Best IoT Ecosystem – AT&T
Best SD-WAN – Comcast Business
Best UCaaS Unified Communications – Vonage
Best Cloud Migration – Razor Technology
Best Mobility – MetTel
Chorus Communications wants to congratulate this year’s award winners and looks forward to hosting next year’s Carriers Ball, which is slated to take place in Washington D.C. next September.
